After learning his craft in Brazil, Silvano Alves moved to the United States and set the bull-riding world on fire. Beginning with his World Cup clinching ride aboard Big Tex, Alves proved he could ride with the best of them. The 2010 season saw Alves ride in only 17 events. However, in those events, he won three times, had six finishes in the Top 5 and another eight in the Top 10.
